ISLAMABAD: United Nations Education, Scientific and Cultural Organisation (UNESCO) has agreed to include eight historical sites from Pakistan to the world heritage list.

ab’s Khewra Salt Range have been named in the
list prepared by the Department of Archaeology and Museums (DOAM).
UNESCO accepted this
list as pr
operties of universal value. DOAM Deputy Director Tahir Saeed said that after the UNESCO approval, the next demanding task is to develop records of all these sites that could take up to two to three years for each site.
Through the dossiers, Pakistan will prove to UNESCO its intended plans for how to protect and manage these heritage sites preservation along with ease of access and facilities for visitors from around the world. Before it, UNESCO has added seven historical sites to world heritage
list in 2004.
