Zeenat Rafiq, a 20 year old woman who had married a motorcycle mechanic against her fami
ly’s wishes, was burnt alive by her mother last year for her actions.
The An
ti Terrorism Court, who had heard the case, gave its decision on Monday, imposing the death penalty on the mother Nasreen. Zeenat’s brother Anees, who was an
accomplice in her murder, was sentenced to life imprisonment.
