ISLAMABAD: Pakistan has said that a politically nego
tiated settlement is the most viable solution to the Afghan conflict.
The comments were made by Advisor to the Prime Minister on Forei
gn Affairs Sartaj Aziz
while talking to the United Nations Secretary General’s Special Representative for Afghanistan Tadamichi Yamamoto on Tuesday.
The two sides discussed the emerg
ing situation in Afghanistan and the need for strengthening effort
s for enduring peace and stability. They agreed to continue constructive effort
s for Afghan-owned and Afghan-led peace process.
